Challenge

The owner of the house had spent close to two years trying to find a house that suites her needs and requirements. None of the houses in the market had managed to meet her expectations. As such, she decided to purchase a land, and build the house of her dream from scratch. The proposed design by the architectural team was very elegant; however, it imposed several complexities with respect to building envelope detailing and constructibility. Therefore, retaining a reliable, knowledgeable, and experienced construction team was the essence of the project.

How Did We Help?

Upon interview of various construction management firms, the client retained Hamid Design Build to provide construction management services for her custom-built house. Our construction team implemented a comprehensive quality assurance and quality control in place, and hired high quality construction trades to ensure the quality of the construction was proceeding as per the design and the client’s expectations.

Our team gave special attention to the construction details for conformity with good construction practices pertaining to building envelope requirements, structural requirements, durability, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and thermal comfort.

The house is in its seventh years of service, and since the completion in 2008, we have not received a single request with respect to any deficiency or repair. The client has been very pleased with the house and its excellent quality.
